2022 Bijou Jubilee

Featuring Tab Benoit & The Dirty Dozen Brass Band

Saturday, December 10, 2022

The Bijou Jubilee is the annual celebration of the spectacular, historic Bijou Theatre. It serves as the primary fundraiser to support this legendary cultural institution’s ongoing preservation and operation. For one night a year, Bijou friends and fans come together to toast this vibrant art, music, and cultural staple of East Tennessee.

The 2022 Jubilee will be an unforgettable evening filled with New Orleans soul and revelry featuring Tab Benoit’s Swampland Jam and special guests, The Dirty Dozen Brass Band. Tab Benoit is one of music’s most enduring and masterful blues and roots performers and an authority on Louisiana music and culture. He leads this all-star band featuring three giants of Louisiana Roots Music – Big Chief Monk Boudreaux, Johnny Sansone, and Waylon Thibodeaux. Extra special guests, The Dirty Dozen Brass Band, are joining Tab for this exceptional presentation. Formed in 1977, The Dirty Dozen Brass Band are the pioneers of the modern New Orleans brass band movement, recognized worldwide as an unstoppable musical machine whose name is synonymous with genre-bending romps and high-octane performances.

Proceeds from the 2022 Jubilee will support the ongoing preservation of the 206-year building that houses the beloved Bijou Theatre & Lamar House Hotel and provide funding to make our programs and events affordable and accessible to all members of our community.
