About Milk Man & The Big Band:

Milk Man & The Big Band is one of the most unexpected acts to come along in ages. Led by singer-songwriter Dino “Milk Man” Nassios, the group is a 21-piece rock/pop unit, complete with brass, strings, analog-only keyboards, and back-up singers. The group has been wowing audiences in Knoxville, Tennessee, since 2021 with a brash and lovable style that doesn’t fit neatly into any category. With the album “Let Me Tell You,” Milk Man & The Big Band unleash the 13 original songs that are sure to spread the band’s reputation around the globe. With their second release "Milk Man Live In Concert," the band proved their ability to bring these complex arrangements to the stage, as well as play the classic hits of The Beatles, The Doors, Pink Floyd, and more.

About Redd & The Paper Flowers:

Redd Daugherty began as a solo artist during the 2020 pandemic, while teaching high school English at L&N STEM Academy in Knoxville, TN. During this time, she appeared on Season 19 of American Idol; released her first, solo album Monsters & Mothersquit teaching to pursue music full time; and began working alongside her mentor and close friend, Adam Ivy.

Redd met members Gavin Gregg, Katie Adams, and Colleen d'Alelio through friends and at open mics. The group quickly realized they had similar goals and began making and playing music together almost immediately. Founding members of the band Redd and Gavin, recognize and owe initial success to former bassist Will Ross.

The group landed on the band name Redd & the Paper Flowers as Redd still releases solo music. The group is extremely excited to release their first collaborative album in 2023.

As Knoxville’s Cultural Jewel, we strive to represent Knoxville culture by showcasing local live music that otherwise would not have the opportunity to play on a stage of our size and stature. Artists are selected to play the regional live music series through an application process. After artists have submitted an application form, they are chosen by our dedicated team of live music enthusiasts to perform on the Bijou stage. The first round of applications opened in November 2023, and we received over 100 submissions! To apply for a future series performance or for more information, visit knoxbijou.org/localsonly.
