Venue Rentals & Private Events

Set in the heart of Downtown Knoxville on Gay Street, the historic Bijou Theatre is the perfect location for your next event. Built in 1909, featuring traditional theatre seating, state-of-the-art sound, digital projection, and full bars, this beautiful and charming venue creates an intimate and unique space, whether you want to entertain 100 or 750 guests.

Our Bijou Events Team offers turn-key solutions, working with you to capture your vision and secure every detail of your event from the initial planning stages through a post-event wrap-up. We provide endless possibilities to provide entertainment, catering, and impeccable ambiance for every affair.

The Bijou Theatre is a 501(c)3 nonprofit that strives to bring the widest variety of entertainment to as many people as possible. We work with national and local promoters, reputable companies, and many nonprofit organizations to present over 150 events a year. The Bijou is an ideal place to host a variety of events, including:

Thank you for your interest in the Bijou Theatre. All rental inquiries must submit a completed application to be considered for venue rental bookings. Upon approval of this application, you will be contacted by a member of our booking staff. Please note that the submission of this form does not guarantee a reservation nor constitute an agreement to book the theatre(s).

Bijou Theatre facilities are not available on a first-come, first-serve basis. Applicants must show legal status, financial and technical competence, and benefit to the organization’s mission. Determination of eligibility, event programming, and event priority is at the discretion of the Bijou Theatre. Due to the volume of rental inquiries we receive, and the competitive nature of our booking calendar, we are not able to accommodate all rental inquiries.

  • We provide bar services for all events. As a TABC-licensed retailer, we do not allow outside food or beverages to be sold on our premises. If approved, our Event Manager will work with you to create special menus and/or set up a hosted bar to fit your budget should your event require it.
  • We do not have a kitchen on-site and are limited in the catering options we can accommodate. If your event is approved, our Events Manager will work with you to find a solution that best fits your catering needs.
