A Black History Month Feature Program presented by the Beck Cultural Exchange Center

Join us for an unforgettable evening of legacy, rhythm, and reflection as the Beck Cultural Exchange Center presents its 2026 Black History Month Feature Program: The Divine Black Experience. This powerful celebration, held at the historic Bijou Theatre, will pay tribute to The Divine Nine, the nine historically Black Greek-letter fraternities and sororities that have shaped generations of leaders and changemakers.

With the theme “Stepping Down History: Legacy in Motion”, this dynamic event will explore the intersection of heritage, excellence, and expression through a rich tapestry of live performance, spoken word, and dance. Special guest host Tanisha Fitzgerald Baker will guide the evening’s program, which features powerful presentations from the acclaimed Austin-East Dance Company and more.

This annual tradition reflects Beck’s mission to reclaim, preserve, and uplift Black history and culture in East Tennessee. It is a call to community to honor the past, celebrate the present, and carry legacy forward.
